Mosaic Method
Dyslexia Friendly Homeschool Curriculum
Hi, I am Jenny Berling. I have been homeschooling my two kids for three years. I created Mosaic Method to meet my family’s educational needs. I love the idea of literature-based curriculum, but with my son's learning disabilities (auditory processing disorder, dysgraphia & dyslexia), it wasn't a good fit for us. We've bounced around from curriculum to curriculum trying to find a good fit. Finally, I decided to pull all of the ideas I’d wrestled with into a curriculum that meets my children’s needs.
Mosaic Method is:
- Secular
- Eclectic
- Technology-Infused
- Cross-Curricular
- Fun, Engaging & Memorable
Mosaic Method takes pieces of several homeschool methods and philosophies and placed together to create a beautiful image, like a mosaic.
Mosaic Method is inspired by:
- Multimedia-based schooling - integrating videos & online games
- Literature-based curriculum - family read alouds, copy work, poetry snack time
- Project-based learning - utilizing small & large-scale projects to demonstrate learning
- Game schooling - incorporating board games & video games into the learning process
- Unit Studies - cross-curricular, integrated learning
